The venues that recur most often across organisers, and what to expect at each.
Klang Valley stations see the highest concentration of events, split mainly between two venue clusters. Stadium Bukit Jalil (including the Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre and the National Stadium's Carpark B grounds) hosts the largest-format expos, since the open grounds allow for tent structures alongside the indoor hall — this is typically where BIG HOME Expo and HOMElove run their biggest stations. Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, in contrast, suits organisers running a more compact, mall-adjacent format, which is where longer-running events like Modern Home Fair have been based since 2007. Both areas are served by LRT/monorail-adjacent parking, though Bukit Jalil's grounds-based events usually need a car or e-hailing due to the walk from the nearest station.
Penang stations cluster around two convention venues on the island's south side: Setia SPICE Convention Centre (also listed as SPICE Arena/PISA) and PWCC Bayan Lepas. Both sit close to the Bayan Lepas industrial and airport corridor, making them straightforward for visitors coming from the mainland via the Penang Bridge or Second Link. Because Penang only gets one or two stations per organiser per year, expo dates here tend to draw a wider catchment area than KL stations, including visitors from Kedah and Perak.
Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) is the default venue for almost every organiser running a Melaka leg, which keeps logistics simple for repeat visitors — if you've been to one Melaka home expo, you generally know the hall layout for the next one regardless of organiser. Melaka stations are typically timed around school holidays given the city's tourism traffic.
Ipoh sees fewer stations overall than the Klang Valley or Penang, which makes Stadium Indera Mulia a useful indicator venue: when an organiser adds an Ipoh date, it's usually a sign they're expanding a touring circuit rather than just repeating their usual cities. Perak-based shoppers who don't want to travel to Penang or KL should watch this venue specifically.
JB stations are typically hosted at the Auto City Convention Centre (AICC) or Persada Johor International Convention Centre, both of which also serve Singapore-based visitors crossing the Causeway or Second Link for expo pricing not available across the border. Traffic timing matters more here than at other venues — arriving outside peak Causeway congestion windows (late morning on weekdays) makes the trip considerably easier.
East Malaysia is under-served compared to Peninsular Malaysia, with MetroCity Convention Centre (MCCC) in Kuching functioning as the main venue when an organiser does extend a circuit across the South China Sea. Among the organisers profiled in this directory, BIG HOME Expo is currently the only one running a regular Sarawak leg alongside its Peninsular stations, which makes it the default option for Sarawak-based shoppers who don't want to fly to a Peninsular city for a comparable expo.
